Why don’t we post as much as we used to?
The last few years have been hard for a lot of people, in a lot of places on this planet. Out of respect for those people suffering injustices in these trying times, we’ve reduced the bandwidth we take up to allow more space for those who need it.
Music is the great communicator & healer. We are honoured to create tools to help people make music. It’s one way that we serve our community & humanity.
While we’ve been on hiatus from communicating about our work, we’ve been busy elevating our craft to build better assemblies. Our response to the dark days our planet is experiencing is to dig deeper into ourselves to make things better for everyone.
By pushing our boundaries & capabilities to new heights, we believe we can help more music be made to help humans communicate better.
In these confrontational times, artists & makers have a responsibility to speak truth to power through their arts & crafts.
Below are photos of some of the work we’ve done over the last few years. We’re working on some projects currently that are among the most innovative & creative work we’ve done. We look forward to sharing our work with you all when the time is right.
For those who have emailed asking about it…
This is our version of a Jerry Garcia in 2024 rig, built for a player who digs the Jerry jams. The aesthetics are a tribute to the Jerry Garcia rig that was sold at auction a few years ago.
The signal path is the classic Jerry "OBEL" (On Board Effects Loop) concept with some modern technology integrated.
The RJM Music MEG X switches in and out of the signal path the following components. 3xOD's with Parallel Clean Mix, Fox Rox Octave, Mu-FX Envelope Filter, Jackson Audio Comp, 1x Eventide H9, Fortin Zuul+ Gate, Master Volume VCA, Sarno Pre-Amp and the Synergy OS & SLO Pre-Amps with the MEG X’s output routed into the Synergy Power amp.
The Power Amp outputs in bridged mono to the Two Notes Captor X. The Output of the Captor X is sent in double tracked stereo to the 2nd H9 and GForce for "Wet Effects".
The Wet Path Outputs are sent to FOH through a stereo Radial DI and to the Rane Line Mixer.
Near the end of his life, Jerry Garcia was using a Korg M1 on stage. In this rig we're using a Fishman TriplePlay system hosted on the computer with an M1 VST. The output is sent to a stereo Radial DI and to the Rane Line Mixer.
Also sent to the line mixer is a stereo "Band" feed from the Monitor Desk. The output of the line mixer is sent to the Friedman ASM12's that we had their custom shop do for us in the GD bare maple aesthetic.
The MIDI controlled system interface Nice Rack Canada built for this system includes a Input Switching circuit to toggle between OBEL & non-OBEL equipped guitars, Input Buffer, Parallel OD/Clean Mixer with OD Phase Inverter, Fuzz/OD Buffer, Fuzz/OD Transformer Circuit, Clean Boost & Tuner Splits.
The Peterson tuner sees only pickup signal, the Korg rackmount sees post IR & Effects signal. This particular tuner was formerly owned by Mike Landau.
Controlled by MMGT16 with Nice Rack Canada custom external switches. The Mission / Nice Rack Canada expression pedals are for; Guitar Rig Master Volume, Clean/OD Mix, Wet/Dry Mix, and Synth Master Volume. We added the LED strips to the pedals.
